The keyring becomes a permission
We supply and install electronic locking systems from Uhlmann & Zacher — from a single cylinder to an installation spanning several buildings. The mechanical lock already fitted is replaced; the door itself does not have to be altered. Who may open which door, and when, is something you then set centrally and change whenever you like.
Why a mechanical system eventually becomes expensive
Both lock reliably. The difference only shows when something changes — and something always does.
The locking plan sits in the metal
Who may open which door is fixed in the mechanics. A change means new keys, and quite possibly new cylinders. A lost key is a risk that cannot simply be switched off.
The locking plan is a setting
Permissions are granted and withdrawn centrally. A lost card is blocked, a new member of staff gets their doors in a minute — and the installation itself is left untouched.
No work on the door
Cylinder and handle replace what is already there. In the CX6172 everything sits in the handle — electronics, mechanics, signalling and power — so neither cables nor special tools are needed.
The right unit for every door
An installation rarely consists of cylinders alone. Doors, gates, lifts and cabinets can all be brought into the same permission structure.
Locking cylinders
Replaces the mechanical cylinder in the door you already have. The modular system is configured to your requirements and can be combined with further modules into a complete installation.
CX6172 door handle
Electronics, mechanics, signalling and power all sit inside the handle. Fitting needs no cabling and no special tools — for internal, floor and connecting doors.
Furniture and locker locks
The same permission structure for cupboards, lockers and drawers. Changing rooms, workshop cabinets and filing cabinets can all be brought into the installation.
Wall readers
Switch electric door openers, lifts and door and gate drives. That brings in entrances where there is no cylinder to work with.
Radio modules
Provide the link between the wall reader and the unit being switched — a gate drive, for instance, without having to pull a cable to it.

Five variants, one installation
Which cylinder belongs in the door depends on which side should lock electronically and how much room the knob may take up. All five run in the same permission structure.
Electronic knob cylinder

The all-rounder. Its modular construction lets it adapt to any door, and individual elements can be swapped quickly and without fuss.
Electronic double knob cylinder

Different permissions can be granted on each side, which makes it particularly suitable for through doors.
Electronic half cylinder

For key switches on garage doors, padlocks on containers or server cabinet locks — anywhere locking happens from one side only.
Compact knob cylinder
CX6162
At 33 millimetres grip diameter, made for doors with little room, such as tubular frame doors. Also available with VdS-BZ+ certification.

Every security-relevant component — clutch, gearing and motor — sits protected inside the cylinder core.

What holds for every cylinder
Manufacturer's figures that make a difference in daily use — from fitting to the battery.
Little installation effort and no special tools. They run on batteries, so no cable has to reach the door.
Changing the battery and removing the unit are only possible with an authorised transponder — so the cylinder cannot simply be taken off.
If a new door goes in during a refurbishment, only the cylinder adapter is swapped to match the length. A mechanical knob can be replaced by an electronic one later.
Variants for outdoor use with IP66 protection, anti-panic versions, variants for fire doors up to T90, and PVD coating in gold, bronze and black.
The cylinders are certified to DIN EN 15684; compact knob cylinders are also available with VdS-BZ+ certification.
The toggle function keeps the door engaged permanently without additional power draw. Combined with Bluetooth Low Energy, operation by smartphone is possible.

Clex private
For smaller offices, medical and legal practices and the home. The starting point when a manageable number of doors is involved.
Clex prime
For industrial sites, large office buildings, hospitals, critical infrastructure, universities, schools and local authorities. The CX6172 door handle belongs to this system.
Clex public
Integrates the locking units into third-party systems you already have — online and offline, including the OSS Standard Offline.
Clex mobile
Open doors with a smartphone and manage the installation from a mobile. Available as Clex prime mobile and Clex private mobile.

From a private home to a hospital corridor
The question is rarely whether it is technically possible — it is which form belongs on which door and how the permissions should be cut. That is decided on site, not in a catalogue. Which is why we look at the doors first.

Does the door have to be rebuilt for an electronic locking system?
As a rule, no. The electronic cylinder replaces the mechanical one already fitted, and the door handle replaces the existing one. In the CX6172 handle, electronics, mechanics and power all sit inside the handle, so fitting needs no cabling and no special tools. Which form suits which door is something we look at on site beforehand.
What happens if a key or card is lost?
You withdraw that medium's permission — the installation stays exactly as it is. That is the difference from a mechanical system: there the locking plan is fixed in the metal, and a lost key may well mean replacing cylinders.
What opens the door?
Transponders — a card or a key fob, depending on the version. Depending on the system and variant, opening by radio module or by smartphone is also possible; the Clex prime mobile and Clex private mobile systems exist for that.
Can lockers and cabinets be included as well?
Yes. Electronic furniture and cabinet locks exist for that and are brought into the same permission structure. Changing rooms, workshop cabinets and filing cabinets then run on the same media as the doors.
Can an existing access control solution continue to be used?
That is what Clex public is for: the locking units can be integrated into third-party systems you already have, online and offline, including the OSS Standard Offline. Whether that holds in your case is something we clarify against the system in place.
